Diwan Al-Adam launched to enrich Qatari poetic culture

“Diwan Al-Adam” reveals those qualified for stage 24

The awarding Committee of “Diwan Al-Adam” announced the names of poets who qualified for the 24th stage, following the end of the committee’s interviews for the poets who qualified for the fiftieth stage which continued over five days. Poets who qualified for the 24th stage were distributed into three groups. The first included the poets: Hamad Al Fatoor, Muhammad Al-Majdour, Masoud Al Shaafoul, Muhammad bin Saeedan, Saad bin Wessam, Abdullah Al-Maksour Al-Marri, Abdul-Hadi Saif Al-Hajri and Salem Al-Houl. As for the second group, it included the poets: Hamad Al-Hawl, Hamad Al-Fuzira, Radhi Al-Hajri, Saeed Al-Dahabib, Adel Abdullah, Abdullah Saeed Al-Ziyouh, Ali Bin Ahmed and Nasser Al-Wabeer. The third group included the poets: Bakheet Al-Baridi, Butti Al Hababi, Jaber Al-Nashera, Rashid Bin Madghash Al-Hajri, Salem Bin Luqman, Obaid Al-Jarallah, Ali Al-Subaih and Anan Al-Dahabib. The Start of the Second level of “Diwan Al-Adam”

The second phase of the competition “Diwan Al-Adam” has begun; with the poets who made it to the “fifty poets” phase. In this phase, poets will compete over the course of five days; followed by the announcement of the successful poets who will proceed to the next level “the 24 poets”.“Diwan Al-Adam” competition is organized by: Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events and Qatar Poetry Center “Diwan Al Arab”, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCS).Through its various stages; the event “Diwan Al-Adam” takes the form of a competition between Qatari citizen and resident poets. Doha declared Capital of Islamic Youth for 2019

Istanbul: Doha has been selected as the Capital of the Islamic Youth for 2019, in recognition of Qatar’s efforts in supporting and empowering the Islamic youth. The selection took place yesterday night in Istanbul after the activities of Al Quds as the capital of Islamic youth for the year 2018 came to a close. Doha was declared the Capital of the Islamic Youth at a special dinner after a unanimous decision by the Islamic Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation, the youth wing of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Ministry of Culture to mark World Poetry Day today

THE Ministry of Culture and Sports will hold on Thursday a cultural forum to mark the World Poetry Day. The forum is being organised by Qatar Poetry Center and the Committee of Poets’ Affairs (Poetry Majlis) at Katara.The Director of Qatar Poetry Center Shabib bin Arar al Rzmani said celebrating World Poetry Day comes as part of the vision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports to build a physically and mentally healthy society.He said the event would support both famous poets as well as aspiring ones. Doha Book Fair Starts From 9th January 2020

The Ministry of Culture and Sports has announced the date of the 30th Doha International Book Fair, scheduled to be held from 9 to 18 January 2020. In fact,  the book fair edition for the year 2019 was postponed to the beginning of 2020. Held under the auspices of the Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Centre, which will dedicate all available resources to ensure the success and excellence of the upcoming Doha International Book Fair. To honour the significance of this year’s edition, it will mark the 30th anniversary of this remarkable cultural event that constitutes the largest international book fair in the region, holding a prestigious reputation. Doha Islamic Youth Forum begins today

Doha: The Doha Islamic Youth Forum will begin today at QNCC, under the theme of “Youth is the power of the nation”, which is part of the activities of Doha - Capital of Islamic Youth 2019.  The Forum which is being organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports will continue until July 11, hosting around 90 young people representing 56 countries of the Islamic world, including 20 Qatari youth, participating in the Forum. The Forum is organised in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Islamic Youth Cooperation Forum, the youth wing of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), and under the supervision and organisation of the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events.  The agenda of the forum discuss issues related to youth including good governance and transparency among youth, importance of sustainable development, youth and social media, and diplomatic simulations. Preparations begin for QND celebrations of educational sector

As part of its preparations for the Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations, the National Day Organising Committee 2019 yesterday announced the launch of preparations of educational sector activities during its induction meeting with the schools. The educational sector activities include the reception of H H the Amir, Ardat Hal Qatar, Qatar Debates, Ad Al Qaseed, Almasrah (theatre), Lmradah, and Aelami Al Mustaqbal (journalists of the future). The meeting, at Qatar Women’s Sports Committee headquarters, was attended by directors of a number of schools.  The aim of organising these activities is to apprise the present generation about the meaning of loyalty and unity and educate them about the heritage and history of Qatar. It also strengthens the loyalty between people and leaders and increase the pride in Qatar’s unity.   The committee said that the number of students participating in the activity should be 50 from each school and the deadline for participation is September 12 with the need for consent from parents of students. Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Centre offers training programme

Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Centre has said it is holding a training programme for the management and organisation of mass events, from tomorrow until September 25 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).The training programme targets ministries and institutions concerned with the organisation of events, conferences and exhibitions, the centre said in a statement.“The programme’s idea is to enrich and develop the knowledge, skills and experience of the participants in the field of planning and organising events, conferences and exhibitions.
