The events of “Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World”, start today

A special live broadcasting at 7:30 pm on local channels and on the event’s website

The State of Qatar hosts the events of “Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World in 2021” which start today, the 8th of March 2021, Under the kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the country  and the direct supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Sports in cooperation with the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture “ISESCO”, the Qatar National Committee for Education, Culture and Science and the strategic partners in the country, namely, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Museums, Katara Cultural Village Qatar, and Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and many other bodies from the state.

A special episode of the launching ceremony of the events of “Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World”, will be broadcast at 7:30 pm on Qatar TV, the media partner, Al Rayyan satellite channel, Al Jazeera Mubasher, Alaraby TV, and on the event’s website www.dcciw.qa. During the broadcast, a number of personalities will be invited to talk about the importance of this hosting and how it reflects the efforts of the State of Qatar in promoting culture in the Islamic world.

On this occasion, a speech will be conveyed by His Excellency the Minister of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar, and another speech will be also conveyed by the Director General of ISESCO. In fact, they will talk about the launch of the event of “Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World” and Doha’s hosting of this cultural celebration. In addition to that, the opening ceremony will witness the participation of the Qatari artist Fahd Al-Kubaisi, who will display different artistic performances, and also the participation of the Omani poet Jamal Al-Mulla, who will introduce a special poem on the occasion of this hosting.
